Both physicians participate in the family meeting and other specialists may be brought in to assist in thoroughly identifying the needs of each child. As part of this first visit, photographs and measurements will be taken which will serve as a reference for planning the eventual surgery. Other tests, such as x-rays or CT scans may also be performed to ensure a detailed understanding of the childs condition. Parents are advised to bring any of the childs available health or surgical records to ensure a complete grasp of the childs health issues.

Both Dr. Kasrai and Dr. Fisher will discuss their findings with the family and set out a planned approach for future visits and the surgical procedure.
